Police Scotland says it has received information and begun inquiries into time that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor spent with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell at Balmoral, the king's private estate in the Scottish Highlands, The Guardian reports.
The force said the inquiries were active but at a very early stage, were evidence-led and put the needs of victims and survivors first. It declined to confirm any further details.
According to the Daily Express, the inquiries concern claims that women were trafficked to the estate. Photographs released earlier by the US Department of Justice appear to show the former prince and Epstein on a shooting trip at Balmoral.
