Rhiannon Whyte’s mother accuses Labour of not listening two years after her murder

·

Siobhan Whyte, whose daughter Rhiannon was murdered at a railway station in October 2024, has told GB News she feels the Government does not care about the risk posed by people arriving in Britain illegally.

Rhiannon Whyte, a young mother who worked at the Park Inn hotel housing asylum seekers, was attacked by Sudanese national Deng Majek as she waited for a train and died three days later. Majek was jailed for life with a minimum term of 29 years.

Speaking as she marked the anniversary, Ms Whyte called for stricter detention, criminal, medical and age checks, and questioned the Home Office's focus on migrants' human rights. She met Border Security Minister Anna Turley in September. A Home Office spokesman called the murder abhorrent and said the Government was cracking down on small boat crossings and closing every asylum hotel.
