Russia fired ballistic missiles at Kyiv on Sunday evening, with explosions heard across the capital at almost the same moment that street sirens began, the Kyiv Independent reports. Its journalists said mobile phone alerts arrived only minutes before the blasts.
Kyiv's mayor, Vitali Klitschko, said a medical centre in the Desnianskyi district had been hit and that another building was struck in the Dniprovskyi district. Emergency crews were sent to both sites, and there was no early information on casualties or the scale of the damage. The attack came hours after President Volodymyr Zelensky said the United States had resumed sharing intelligence on Russian missile launches. The outlet noted that high-speed ballistic missiles often give little warning, and that satellite data can be delayed.
