A shop worker in Auckland suffered minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle that a group of would-be burglars tried to use to force their way into a store overnight, police say. Officers were called to Levonia Street in Morningside after reports of people armed with tools trying to break in. Detective Senior Sergeant Rebecca Kirk said the worker interrupted them, and was hit when the group then tried to ram the premises. The vehicle was later spotted by camera operators, failed to stop for police and crashed into a property on Barry Road, where the occupants were caught after trying to run. A 17-year-old is due in Auckland Youth Court charged with aggravated burglary, and police are speaking to three others aged 11 to 14.
