Two charged after police pursuits in Sydney end with ute abandoned on Little Bay golf course

·

A man and a woman have been charged after two police chases in Sydney's eastern suburbs on Saturday night, one of which ended with a ute dumped on a golf course, The Sydney Morning Herald reports.

Police say the black ute failed to stop for a roadside drug and alcohol test on Anzac Parade in Malabar at about 7.15pm. It allegedly reached 100km/h in a 50km/h zone during the chase. Officers called off the chase when it entered a golf club at Little Bay, where the vehicle hit an embankment and was left behind.

Within an hour the 38-year-old man was allegedly seen driving a hatchback nearby, and a second pursuit ended when the car reversed into a police vehicle. Nobody was hurt. He faces five charges, and the 45-year-old woman is charged with resisting police.
