Uber is giving its entire global workforce of around 30,000 people access to ChatGPT Work, OpenAI's enterprise AI agent, as the two companies expand their partnership, TechCrunch reports.
The ride-hailing firm first tested the tool with 1,000 staff earlier this year. Uber's vice-president of engineering, Sumanth Sukumar, said about 80 per cent of those early users were not engineers and used it to analyse operational data, translate training material and build their own dashboards.
Uber did not say how much the rollout costs and has not fixed how teams should use the tool, preferring to let them experiment and then measure the results. OpenAI launched ChatGPT Work in July and has been pushing to grow its business customer base in competition with Anthropic.
