Almost four in 10 Argentines of voting age will be 35 or younger at the 2027 elections, according to a report by consultancy Eunomia cited by the Buenos Aires Times. That amounts to about 14.4 million people nationally, including 5.25 million in Buenos Aires Province, which has the country's largest electorate.
Nationally, under-35s will account for 39.1 per cent of those aged 16 and over, and 37.8 per cent in the province. Across the 40 municipalities of greater Buenos Aires the share ranges widely, from almost 47 per cent in Presidente Perón to under 30 per cent in Vicente López. The paper notes that the group is far from uniform: a Catholic University of Argentina study found only about 14 per cent of urban 18 to 25-year-olds had formal jobs with full labour rights.
