India's governing Bharatiya Janata Party has again accused the opposition leader, Rahul Gandhi, of working with foreign organisations to stir unrest and weaken the country's institutions, The Hindu reports.
At a press conference in Delhi on Thursday, the BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia pointed to a Fox News Digital report that he said linked protests in India to attempts at regime change in France and other countries. He said the report listed 101 organisations and named two, Progressive International and Indian Alliance Paris.
Mr Bhatia called on Mr Gandhi and the former Congress president Sonia Gandhi to explain a meeting they held with a Progressive International delegation in Delhi in April 2025, and accused Mr Gandhi of promoting disorder. The Hindu's report did not include a response from the Congress party to the latest allegations.
