Leaders of the Organisation of Turkic States have agreed to push ahead with joint transport, energy, trade and digital projects at a summit in Ankara, Euronews reports.
The meeting, hosted by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, ended with the adoption of the Ankara Declaration, and Turkey took over the group's rotating chair from Azerbaijan. Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev unexpectedly suggested inviting Russia to take part, either as an observer or through a wider partnership format, though no decision was announced.
Mr Erdoğan proposed a shared digital trade platform and a common large language model for Turkic languages, and the declaration backed work on a cybersecurity agreement. Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev put forward 100 joint industrial projects, including in critical minerals and green technology, and Turkey restated a $15bn trade target with Kazakhstan.
