Labour has won a council by-election in the St James's ward of Dudley by just two votes, defeating Reform UK, which had been defending the seat after its councillor Ivor Robinson stood down for personal reasons, GB News reports.
Labour's share rose by 16.2 points to 38 per cent, while Reform's fell by 11 points. Rupert Lowe's Restore Britain came fourth with 159 votes, or 6.9 per cent, which Reform figures say cost them the seat. Reform deputy leader Richard Tice responded with the warning "Vote Restore, get Labour".
Some Reform figures also accused Lowe of a pact with the Conservatives, noting that Restore did not stand in two Tory-held seats contested on Thursday. Lowe said his party had made strong progress, particularly in Scotland, ahead of next May's elections.
