A federal court in Washington has turned down a request by American transparency campaigner Aaron Greenspan to put questions to Nigeria's President Bola Tinubu and lobbying firm DCI Group, Premium Times reports.
Mr Greenspan wanted to ask whether they were behind alleged denial-of-service attacks on his legal research website, PlainSite. The court ruled on Friday that the questions were not relevant enough to his Freedom of Information Act lawsuit, which seeks FBI and Drug Enforcement Administration records about Mr Tinubu linked to a 1990s Chicago heroin investigation. It also rejected his motion for summary judgment.
Mr Greenspan's filing did not show who was responsible for the attacks. Mr Tinubu's lawyers welcomed the decision, saying the case must stay focused on the records request, which remains before the court.
