Alaska US Senate candidate Mary Peltola and members of her family suffered minor injuries when another driver hit the vehicle they were travelling in on Saturday evening, her campaign said, as reported by Alaska's News Source.
The collision happened while they were on their way to the Alaska Federation of Natives annual banquet in Anchorage. The campaign said the injuries needed medical attention.
On medical advice, Peltola's planned campaign events in Fairbanks on Sunday and Bethel on Monday will be moved to later in the week. Campaign manager Cheryl Bruce said Peltola was disappointed by the delay to her final tour before polling day and was keen to get back on the trail. Alaska's News Source said it had asked Anchorage police for more details about the crash.
