Nigeria's health authorities are investigating two suspected Ebola cases in the north-east of the country, Al Jazeera reports.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention said both people had been isolated, their contacts were being traced and laboratory tests were under way. It stressed that the cases would only be confirmed if tests came back positive.
Nigeria declared its first Ebola case in more than a decade on 20 October, when a Swiss woman who had travelled from Uganda tested positive for the Bundibugyo strain. She and her husband were later flown to Switzerland. The outbreak began in the Democratic Republic of Congo in May and has killed more than 5,000 people there, with cases also reported in Uganda, Kenya and France. There is no approved vaccine or treatment for this strain, though trials are being carried out.
