Nigeria's military says air strikes against Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) killed 103 fighters and destroyed logistics bases in the north-east between 10 and 18 October, Premium Times reports.
A spokesperson for the Operation Hadin Kai task force said seven strikes hit targets in Borno State's Guzamala and Monguno areas and in Adamawa State. He said a strike on Sunday destroyed a residence used by an ISWAP regional commander and killed his chief bodyguard and a member of the group's leadership council, along with boat engines and motorcycles stored there.
An earlier strike on 13 October against a gathering of more than 100 fighters near Monguno killed about 30, according to the military's assessment. The figures come from the military and have not been independently verified.
