Police investigating the death of a man at his home in Dargaville are asking for sightings of a small silver hatchback seen nearby beforehand, 1News reports. Garry Hazelton, 64, was found dead at his property on Hoeroa Street on 7 October, and a homicide investigation was opened.
Detective Senior Sergeant Shane Pilmer of Whangārei CIB said the car looked similar to an early-2000s Nissan March and had been seen around Hoeroa Street. Police want information about the vehicle or anyone in it between 5pm on 5 October and 5pm on 7 October. They released an image of a similar car but stressed it was not the vehicle itself. Pilmer said detectives remained determined to find whoever was responsible. People with information can call police on 105.
