A federal judge in New York on Tuesday jailed Alon, Oren and Tal Alexander for 30 years each on sex trafficking charges, CBS News reports. A jury had found that the brothers drugged and sexually assaulted dozens of women over more than ten years.
US District Judge Valerie Caproni handed down the sentences in a New York courtroom, along with 10 years of supervised release. Prosecutors and victims had asked for the maximum, while defence lawyers sought the 15-year minimum. Prosecutors said the Miami-based brothers used their wealth and social standing to lure women, including two teenagers.
Several women gave victim impact statements, describing lasting trauma. US Attorney Jamie McDonald said the sentence showed such conduct would be met with serious punishment. Alon and Oren Alexander had become well known through their luxury property business before their arrests in December 2024.
