West Anchorage beat Colony 27-6 to reach Division I football final

·

West Anchorage High School's football team reached Alaska's Division I final with a 27-6 win over Colony on Friday, the Anchorage Daily News reports. The top-seeded Eagles were held to 6-6 at half-time by the fourth seeds, recalling last year's semi-final upset, but scored 21 unanswered points after the break.

Senior running back Manny Maga ran for 140 yards, including touchdown runs of 39 and 70 yards, while the defence forced four turnovers in the final quarter, two of them interceptions by Jayciano Cabesas. West will meet reigning champions South, who beat Juneau-Douglas 42-12, in the title game at Colony High School next Friday evening.
