Nova Scotia's police watchdog has found no grounds to charge two Annapolis Royal Police Service officers who were accused of conspiring to commit murder, Global News reports.
The Serious Incident Response Team said another police force referred the case to it in May. Its inquiry centred on a conversation between the two officers in May last year about harming a person known to police.
Investigators also examined a claim that one officer threatened to release a recording of that conversation unless the other agreed to a request about a workplace matter, though no further details were given.
In its report, the team's director said the investigation found no reasonable grounds to believe that either officer had committed a criminal offence, so no charges will follow.
