Auckland FC were denied victory in the A-League Men on Friday when Brisbane Roar captain Tom Aldred scored with the last kick of the game to earn a 1-1 draw, 1News reports.
Japanese defender Hiroki Sakai had put Auckland ahead in the 11th minute with a half-volley, and the visitors held on for more than 80 minutes as Brisbane hit the woodwork several times.
With one final corner in the 95th minute, Aldred's first header was blocked before he forced the ball through a crowd of players. Roar coach Michael Valkanis praised his side for pushing to the end. Auckland winger Lachlan Brook said the result felt like a defeat given they had led for almost the whole match, having managed only one shot on target.
