Norwegian police say the search for a man missing after a jet ski capsized near Bodø is now being treated as a search for a person presumed dead, NRK reports.
A woman and a man, both in their 30s, went into the sea at Mørkvedbukta overnight from Friday to Saturday, in darkness, high waves and strong currents. The woman swam about 200 metres to shore and sheltered in heated premises at Nord University's research station, where police found her after a neighbour heard shouting from the shoreline and raised the alarm.
The sea search was reclassified on Saturday afternoon, and on Sunday morning Nordland police said the search along the shore had moved to the same phase. Relatives have been informed. Police, firefighters, volunteers and university staff took part on Saturday, and the search was due to resume at 10:00 on Sunday.
