Six people, three of them children, were killed when a Russian drone hit the central park in Nova Vodolaha in Ukraine's Kharkiv region on Monday afternoon, regional governor Oleh Syniehubov said, according to the Kyiv Independent.
Officials said families were in the park when the drone struck at around 4.30pm local time. Among the dead were a girl of just over a year old, her mother and a 14-year-old girl, and about 15 people were reported injured, including seven children. Prosecutors said early findings pointed to a Geran-3 drone and have opened a war crimes investigation.
President Volodymyr Zelensky called the attack an absolute atrocity, repeated Ukraine's call for more air defence and urged allies not to lift sanctions on Russia while the killing continues.
