The United Arab Emirates' Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has arrived in Mumbai for a two-day visit to India, The Hindu reports.
He landed on Monday evening and was met at the airport by Maharashtra's skills development minister, Mangal Prabhat Lodha. India's External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar, welcomed him on social media ahead of wide-ranging talks between the two ministers on Tuesday.
India's foreign ministry said the visit would strengthen the two countries' Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Its spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, said last week that the sides would review and advance work on energy, trade and investment, fintech, defence and connectivity. The ministers are also expected to discuss the wider situation in West Asia, including recent attacks on Saudi Arabia.
