A Court of Splintered Harmony, the sixth instalment of Sarah J Maas's bestselling Acotar fantasy series, has become the fastest-selling adult fantasy novel in the UK since reliable records began in 1998, The Guardian reports. Figures from NielsenIQ BookData show it sold 188,914 copies between its release on 27 October and 31 October, beating the previous record of 155,141 set by Rebecca Yarros's Onyx Storm in 2025.
It is also the quickest-selling hardback novel since Dan Brown's Inferno in 2013, and went straight to the top of the UK book chart. Publisher Bloomsbury says global English-language preorders and first-day sales reached 1.7 million copies. Maas, an American author, is one of the best-known writers of romantasy, a mix of romance and fantasy that has grown largely through TikTok. Waterstones held 60 midnight launches for the book.
