President Donald Trump has said he may move the White House press corps to a different location, while denying reports that he planned to scrap the briefing room to restore an old swimming pool beneath it, Al Jazeera reports.
In a Truth Social post on Friday, Mr Trump called the pool reports false but said reporters could be moved somewhere "less obnoxious". The New York Times reported this week that he had raised moving journalists out of the briefing room with his former press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, who said on Friday that he was "flirting" with restoring the pool built for Franklin D. Roosevelt.
The remarks come amid tension between the White House and the press. Last month a federal judge said a ban on three outlets was likely unconstitutional, forcing their access to be restored; the administration is contesting the ruling.
