Preorders for Microduck, a small open-source walking robot, passed 20,000 a day after Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang demonstrated a group of them on stage at the company's GTC Berlin conference, TechCrunch reports, citing Hugging Face co-founder Clem Delangue.
In the keynote video, which spread widely online, the robots responded to voice commands by sitting, playing dead and somersaulting while making beeping sounds. They are made by Pollen Robotics, which Hugging Face bought in 2025, and Nvidia acquired Hugging Face in September.
The Microducks learned their basic movements, such as walking, sitting and standing, in simulations built on Nvidia's software. Pollen says owners will be able to teach them new tricks and share these with other users. Deliveries are expected before Christmas, and Delangue has suggested it could become the year's best-selling robot.
