Polish prosecutors have charged a 22-year-old Georgian citizen with aiding and abetting the murder of Robert Kuzovkov, a Russian dissident cartoonist shot dead in Biała Podlaska in June, Notes from Poland reports.
The suspect, identified only as Makhmud A. under Polish privacy rules, was detained by the Internal Security Agency on 19 October after flying in from Georgia. Prosecutors say he supplied the alleged gunman, another Georgian already charged with the killing, with a weapon, transport and a phone app used to track the victim's car. He is also charged with illegally possessing firearms.
Kuzovkov, who published satirical cartoons of Vladimir Putin and Ramzan Kadyrov as Semyon Skrepetsky, fled Russia in 2021. Prime Minister Donald Tusk has said the killing appeared to be a political assassination. A court has ordered three months' detention.
