A woman in St Petersburg has accused an officer at a police station in the city's Frunzensky district of beating and sexually assaulting her for several hours after she went to the police to report a rape, Meduza reports, drawing on her account and reporting by Mediazona.
The woman, named only as Irina, said she reported on 10 October that a man she had met through a dating bot, a police academy cadet, had raped her the previous night. She says officers later brought her back to the station, where one officer repeatedly hit her, forced her to undress and threatened her over about five hours while others looked on, and pressed her to reconcile with the accused man.
She has since left the city. The allegations have not been tested in court, and the officers involved have not publicly responded.
