Denis Yeskov and Anatoly Nagornov, who ran the train photography website RailGallery, have been ordered into custody by a Moscow court, Meduza reports. They are accused of unlawfully interfering with Russia's critical information infrastructure, an offence that carries five to 10 years in prison.
Investigators allege the pair obtained an organisation's trade secrets, copied data held at a critical infrastructure facility and published it on their site. The website stopped loading on 15 October and remains offline; court records show the arrests were ordered the day before. In a statement shared on Telegram, the site's editors said the detentions had come as a complete shock and that its future was unclear. RailGallery was set up in 2022 after the popular rail photo site TrainPix closed.
