Three people were flown to hospital by rescue helicopter after their car left the road and struck a tree in the Salten area of Nordland, northern Norway, on Saturday afternoon, NRK reports.
Police were alerted shortly after 14:30. An operations manager told the broadcaster the car was badly damaged and that at least one of the three occupants was seriously injured; the extent of the other two's injuries was not yet known. People who arrived first at the scene helped the three before they were taken to an ambulance station and then flown to Nordland Hospital in Bodø.
The road past the crash site was closed while officers examined the scene and sought to interview witnesses. Police said they had not yet been able to speak to those who were in the car.
