Samoa scored 13 tries to one to beat hosts Papua New Guinea 64-6 at the Rugby League World Cup in Port Moresby on Saturday, RNZ reports.
The first half was close and physical, but Samoa pulled clear after the break. Winger Sualauvi Fa'alogo, full-back Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow and Shawn Blore each scored twice, while Bailey Biondi-Odo crossed for the Kumuls' only try.
Samoa dominated the match statistics, with 69 per cent of possession, 12 line breaks to PNG's two and more than 2,000 metres gained with the ball. Head coach Ben Gardiner praised his side's second-half display. The result is Samoa's second win of the tournament and sets them up for their final pool match against Tonga.
