Ukrainian drones attacked Russia's Tambov region overnight into Tuesday, causing a fire at one site, the regional governor Yevgeny Pervyshev said, according to Meduza. He gave no further details beyond saying nobody was hurt.
Ukrainian monitoring project Exilenova+ and analysts at the independent Telegram channel Astra said the target appeared to be the Nikolskoye pumping and dispatching station in Michurinsky district. The station is an important junction on the Druzhba oil pipeline network, handling the storage and onward transit of up to 300,000 tonnes of oil a day. Ukraine also hit the same facility at least twice in summer 2025.
Russia's defence ministry said its air defences destroyed 136 Ukrainian drones overnight, some of them over Tambov. Ukraine has repeatedly targeted Russian refineries and fuel infrastructure in recent months, contributing to fuel shortages inside Russia.
