Yemen's Houthi movement has launched a fresh series of attacks on Saudi Arabia and on Aden, seat of Yemen's internationally recognised government, Al Jazeera reports.
Yemen's Transport Ministry said two ballistic missiles targeted Aden International Airport on Saturday, the fourth such attack this month, and authorities said the coastguard headquarters and another building were also hit. Saudi Arabia's civil defence said two missiles fired towards Mecca and Medina were intercepted. The Houthis denied targeting the holy cities, saying they aimed at Saudi airports, oil facilities and an airbase.
The Gulf Cooperation Council condemned the attacks. Houthi-run media said Saudi-led coalition air strikes killed civilians in Sanaa and Hodeidah, a claim that could not be verified. Houthi strikes on Saudi targets resumed in July after a ceasefire agreed in 2022 broke down.
