Two pilots eject from T-6A training jet near Seguin in Texas

·

Two pilots ejected from a US military training aircraft near Seguin, Texas, on Thursday evening after a problem with its landing gear, CBS News reports. Joint Base San Antonio said the crew of the T-6A Texan II, from the 12th Flying Training Wing, carried out a controlled bailout at about 5.51pm local time.

Officials said the pilots had received signs that the landing gear was unsafe and, after consulting experts, were advised to eject. Both were being checked by local medical staff, and their condition was not immediately known.

The T-6A is a single-engine, two-seat aircraft used to teach basic flying to US Air Force and Navy student pilots. Seguin is about 35 miles east of San Antonio.
