Two survivors of Bend school shooting still in hospital as Oregon town mourns

·

A teacher and a seven-year-old pupil wounded in Thursday's shooting at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon, were still in hospital on Saturday, ABC News reports, citing the Associated Press. Three children aged five, eight and 11 and a 25-year-old teacher, Megan Lambert, were killed when a 16-year-old former pupil opened fire with a shotgun in a special needs classroom. According to the report, a teacher was wrestling with the gunman when the father of two pupils arrived and shot him dead.

Teacher Becky Drury, 54, is being treated in Bend for arm and hand injuries, a family spokesperson said, while Saylor Graham, seven, was taken to a hospital in Portland. Residents left flowers and toys at a memorial outside the school as police continued to investigate the motive.
