At least 18 people were killed on Monday when Houthi forces struck a Yemeni government military training camp in Shabwa province, The National reports, citing government and medical sources. Government sources said three ballistic missiles hit soldiers during morning training.
The attack follows recent Houthi strikes on government-held areas, including Aden airport and the Maashiq presidential palace in the interim capital, where five security personnel were killed. Government forces began an offensive earlier this month to retake Houthi-held territory and have advanced near the Bab al-Mandab Strait. A truce in place since 2022 broke down this year, and the Iran-aligned Houthis have also repeatedly fired missiles and drones at Saudi Arabia as the wider regional war has escalated.
