The Danish government will stand behind a loan of 750 million kroner, about $113 million, to the Danish subsidiary of Ukrainian arms manufacturer Fire Point, the Kyiv Independent reports.
The state guarantee, arranged through Denmark's Export and Investment Fund, is needed because the war makes it hard for the firm to borrow on normal commercial terms. Fire Point announced last year that it would make fuel for long-range missiles in Denmark, with the plant due to open by the end of 2027.
Defence Minister Jeppe Bruus said moving some Ukrainian production abroad would make it harder for Russia to disrupt. Business Minister Martin Lidegaard said it would also bring expertise and partnerships to Danish industry. Fire Point is separately working with European firms on Freyja, a planned Ukrainian alternative to the Patriot air defence system.
